About Ridgecrest Education

Kate Alwon Brenner is the founder of Ridgecrest Education LLC and an educational consultant with 18 years of K–12 experience as a teacher, instructional coach, special education leader, curriculum specialist, and professional learning facilitator. She partners with districts to strengthen literacy instruction through high-quality instructional materials (HQIM), instructional coaching, leadership development, and professional learning grounded in research-based practices.

Kate supports districts in designing coherent systems that improve literacy outcomes, including literacy landscape analyses, strategic planning, implementation support, coaching systems, and leadership development. She works alongside district and school leaders to build the conditions for consistent, high-quality literacy instruction across K–12 classrooms.

Kate has extensive experience with curricula including ODELL HSLP, Amplify ELA, CKLA, EL Education, StudySync, and other HQIM. Her approach is practical, collaborative, and focused on helping leaders and teachers translate strong curriculum and research into sustainable instructional practices that improve outcomes for students.
