About Dr. Joshua Lutz - Special Education Consultant

Joshua Lutz is an experienced executive leader with over 25 years in education and nonprofit systems. He has led large-scale initiatives integrating social, emotional, and behavioral frameworks into organizational systems, resulting in measurable improvements in outcomes and culture, particularly in the areas of special education and pupil/student services.

Recently serving as Assistant Superintendent of Pupil Services, Dr. Lutz had direct oversight and responsibility for districtwide systems for special education and gifted, student services, mental health, and SEL implementation. Previously, he served as Head of Schools for a multi-site nonprofit organization, leading strategic growth and partnering with executive leadership to expand impact.

Dr. Lutz is recognized for translating research into practice, scaling systems, and building collaborative cultures. He brings experience in creating and leading programs to develop legally compliant Individual Education Programs (IEPs), governance, strategy, and operational leadership, and is committed to advancing equitable, whole-child outcomes.

Dr. Lutz is an experienced presenter and speaker, with recent professional development engagements with the Council for Administrators of Special Education (CASE), FastIEP, and previous engagements with the Florida Association of School Psychologists, where he served as Regional representative, Conference Chair, President-Elect, President, and Past President.
