About Kate Kemp Educational Design
I spent 10+ years teaching K-2, most of it centered on foundational literacy and phonics. I hold a Reading Specialist M.S. and an Elementary Education B.S. from Pittsburg State University, with K-6 licensure. A few years back I helped bring a therapy dog program into my own building and ended up advising several other area teachers through setting theirs up too. Now I work independently through Kate Kemp Educational Design, building curriculum and coaching literacy for publishers, schools, and districts. I'm based in Kansas, and I've worked with clients in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas too, so I don't assume one state's standards apply without checking first.
